Overview
China is rich in heavy oil resources, and only Shengli Oilfield has proven geological reserves of 660 million tons. Steam significantly reduces the viscosity of heavy oil and improves recovery. Under the influence of reservoir heterogeneity, steam absorption is uneven and steam channeling leads to a low oil-vapor ratio. Traditional foam agents can not meet the technical requirements of high temperature and high salt of reservoir steam. To this end, a new structure "Yin-yin-yin-non-" foam agent system was designed, and a foam strengthening mechanism of fast foaming, strong sealing, and weak temperature-sensitive was established to form a technology of strengthening deep foam plugging.
In June 2021, the technology passed the technical appraisal of China Petrochemical Corporation, and the overall technology reached the international leading level.
Technical characteristics of foam agent
◆ The foam agent has salt resistance of 100000mg/L and calcium and magnesium ion resistance of 3000mg/L.
◆ The foam agent formed a fine foam, and the foam resistance factor reached 140-388 when gas and liquid were injected in porous media at 80-200℃.
◆ The three pipes of high, medium, and low permeability were connected in parallel, the foam improved the heterogeneity, the liquid extraction profile was adjusted, the liquid separation rate of the high permeability pipe was reduced from 94.2% to 18.4%, and the comprehensive oil displacement efficiency was increased from 27.2% to 47.4%, an increase of 20.2%.
Promotion and Application
Foam agent began to be applied in thermal production in heavy oil blocks of Shengli Oilfield such as Binnan, Gudaoand Gudong in June 2020, and has been implemented for a total of 12 Wells, effectively alleviating reservoir contradictions such as uneven steam absorption, steam channeling, and edge and bottom water intrusion. The average amount of foam agent per well is 9.5 tons. The average oil per well increased by 328.7 tons, the average water cut decreased by 9%, the oil-vapor ratio increased by 0.16, and the average production time was extended by 90 days.
