Polyether polyols are mainly used as raw materials for polyurethane products, which are widely used in car seats, furniture, insulation materials, coatings, adhesives, and other fields. We have the formulation and production technology of polyether products such as soft bubble, hard bubble, CASE, polymer polyol, and special polyether.

Polymer polyether polyol (POP) is a modified polyether polyol with special properties. it is based on polyether polyols its parent. it is prepared by grafting copolymerization with acrylonitrile (AN) and styrene (St). It is a blended system composed of polyether polyol, grafted polyol, acrylonitrile, and styrene, and other vinyl monomer copolymers orautopolymers.

The Shanghai Institute independently developed the polymetallic polyether polyol catalyst (MMC), the first continuous production process (LMMC) technology based on the MMC catalyst, and the first continuous polymer polyol (LPOP) technology in China.

MMC catalyst activity is high, the amount is small, and the prepared polyether polyol does not need post-treatment, low unsaturation, specific parameters are shown in the following table:

In 2006, it was first industrialized on the Gaoqiaopetrochemical plant, and its technical characteristics are as follows:

◆ The LMMC process has the advantages of no induction period, no refining, less discharge of three wastes, stable reaction, large energy saving, and consumption reduction.

◆ The same capacity of the device LMMC has the advantages of small investment scale, small reactor, small footprint, and so on.

◆ Compared with the traditional potassium hydroxide process, the energy consumption of the LMMC process is only one-third of that of the traditional KOH process, and zero discharge of waste residue and wastewater is realized, and only a small amount of incomplete waste gas is generated.

 

Continuous polymer polyol technique

 

Continuous polymer polyether polyol (POP) is a new production process with independent intellectual property rights developed based on the indirect method, which has been applied in industry for the first time in China. Technical characteristics are as follows:

◆ It has the advantages of low energy consumption, stable product quality, less equipment investment, less pollutants. etc.

◆ The post-treatment technology is advanced, and the residual amount of styrene and acrylonitrile in the product is low.

◆ With long cycle operation characteristics.

◆ The product has the characteristics of high solid content and low viscosity.

MMC catalyst long-term stable supply to GaoqiaoPetrochemical Polyurethane Division.

The LMMC continuous production process has been operated for a long period in the 20,000 tons/year plant of Sinopec Gaoqiao Branch and has achieved good economic benefits. LPOp technology has been mass-produced in the polyether plant of the Sinopec Gaogiao Branch and is currently being produced in the polyether plant of the Sinopec Tianjin Branch.
