SBSI series catalysts are based on butene as raw material, through the skeleton isomerization to produce isobutene, isobutene is the raw material for the production of methyl tert-butyl ether, methyl tert-butyl ether is mainly used as a clean gasoline additive, improve the octane number of gasoline. Since 2004, Shanghai Institute has carried out comprehensive research on butene framework isomerization technology, and successfully developed fully crystalline FER zeolite SBSI series catalysts.

The project has applied for more than 10 Chinese invention patents.

 

SBSI butene framework isomerization Promotion and Application technique

 

SBSI butene framework isomerization process uses butenerich carbon tetrafluorites to produce isobutene, which has the following technical characteristics:

◆ Extremely low energy consumption: Airspeed can reach more than 2.0h-', which greatly reduces energy consumption and equipment investment.

◆ Excellent product quality: The highly selective catalyst inhibits the side reaction, so the isobutylene content in the product is high.

◆ Maximum raw material flexibility: The catalyst has good antiimpurity properties, and the butene raw material can be used including polymerization grade, chemical grade and refinery grade butene raw material.

◆ No need for hydrogen: The process does not need hydrogen, the process is simple, and the economy is good.

At present, the main brand of butene skeletonisomerization catalyst is SBSl series catalyst, and the mainfeatures of the product are as follows:

◆ High activity: Using SBSI series catalyst, high butene conversion, long temperature interval period.

◆ High selectivity: Using SBSI series catalysts, the byproduct recombination isomer oil is less, the selectivity of isomer butene is high, the utilization rate of raw material butene is high, and the overall economic benefit of the device is significant.

◆ High stability: The SBSI series catalyst is used, the oneway life reaches 3 months, the regeneration performance is stable, and the catalyst life expectancy is 2 years.

◆ Environmentally friendly: The catalyst has no toxic and harmful components and corrosive components, does not pollute the environment, and can be used renewable.

◆ High mechanical strength: The catalyst has high crushing strength and fully meets the requirements of industrial applications.

 

Popularization and Application

 

The isomerization catalyst has been industrialized in 320,000 tons/year n-butylene isomerization plant in Guangdong and 130,000 tons/year isobutylene isomerization plant in Ningxia.
