Olefin catalytic cracking (OCC) can selectively convert C4/C5 olefin to propylene and ethylene. On the one hand, it can efficiently use C4/C5olefins with low added value, and on the other hand, it can produce a wide range of propylene and ethylene products.

Since 2000, the Shanghai Institute has started the research of OCC technology, developed the fully crystalline composite pore molecular sieve catalyst and OCC technology, and achieved the first industrial application in 2009. OCC technology can enhance the competitiveness of olefin industry and provide technical support for the construction of chemical refineries.

The project has accumulated more than 50 authorized invention patents at home and abroad, and has won 1 second prize of national technical invention, 1 Gold medal of China Patent, and 2 first prizes of provincial and ministerial technical invention awards.

The new generation of Occ technology has a high yield of diene, and the index of material and energy consumption is better than that of similar foreign technologies. lots technical characteristics are as follows:

◆ High yield of propylene and ethylene: The new generation of OCC technology uses a fully crystalline molecular sieve catalyst, and compared with the first-generation technology, the diene yield is greatly improved, and the propylene and ethylene yield is greater than 70% (based on the total amount of olefin in the feedstock).

◆ High reaction airspeed: The OCC catalyst can operate at a weight airspeed of 10-20h-', greatly reducing the volume of the reactor, reducing plant investment and operating costs.

◆ Adaptable raw materials: C4/C5 in MTO units, refineries, and ethylene units are ideal raw materials for OCC.

◆ Good economy, low energy consumption: there is no need for any diluent in the reaction feed, which reduces the energy consumption of the device and reduces the size of the reactor and pipeline; The adiabatic fixed bed reactor is simple in structure and low in investment. A new type of efficient heat exchanger is integrated to reduce the energy consumption of the unit.

At present, the main brands of OCC series catalysts include OCC100A and OCC-200, and the characteristics of the main products are shown in the following table.
