In the process of pyrolysis of petroleum hydrocarbons, a considerable amount of C5 is produced by by-product, and it is a more and more economical choice to produce carbon pentane as cracking raw material by full hydrogenation.

In the process of pyrolysis of petroleum hydrocarbons, a considerable amount of C5 is produced by by-product, and it is a more and more economical choice to produce carbon pentane as cracking raw material by full hydrogenation. However, the C5 fraction contains a large amount of diene and monoene, and the sulfur content is low, which puts forward higher requirements for the antipolymerization coking performance of the first stage catalyst and the adaptability of the second stage catalyst to the low sulfur condition. Shanghai Institute targeted the development of diene hydrogenation catalyst with high selectivity, good coking resistance, high hydrogenation activity and good low sulfur resistance of C5 second hydrogenation catalyst, based on the above catalysts, the corresponding complete set of technologies have been developed. The project has obtained 2 Chinese authorized invention patents of core technologies such as catalyst and its application, and 1 third prize of Sinopec Science and Technology Progress Award.

 

Pyrolysis carbon pentahydrogenation technology

 

The technical features of cracked carbonpentahydrogenation are as follows:

◆ The high homogeneity gas-liquid distributor is used in a hydrogenation reactor, which is suitable for high diene material feeding.

◆The two-stage hydrogenation reactor adopts high efficiency inlet and outlet heat exchanger to realize high efficiency heat recovery and energy saving.

◆ A cooling device for hydrogenation products was designed to reduce the loss of light hydrocarbons in exhaust emissions.

 

Cracked carbon pentahydrogenation catalyst

 

The catalysts for cracking carbon penta hydrogenation are SHP-C5-1 first-stage hydrogenation catalyst and SHP-C5-11 second-stage hydrogenation catalyst, and their main innovations are as follows:

◆ Coke property: The technique of alkali metal modification was innovated to improve the resistance of catalyst to junction

◆ The preparation of high Ni/Mo ratio impregnation solution and its stabilization technology were innovated to improve the ability of resisting low sulfur and carbon accumulation.
