There are a lot of unreacted ethylene glycol in the process of synthesizing super cotton-like polyester from ethylene glycol. The ethylene glycol contains a lot of side reaction impurities, the composition is complex, the quality is poor, and the color is brown and black. The traditional two-tower distillation technology can not achieve effective separation, the thermal chroma of the distilled ethylene glycol product is obviously high, can not be used for light-colored or colorless polyester production, and the stability of the rectification system is low.

Since 2014, the Shanghai Institute has carried out refining separation research on the crude glycol material recovered from the production process of Yizheng chemical fiber super imitation cotton polyester fiber. The combined refining technology has been used to refine the crude glycol material. After refining, the ultraviolet light transmitability, color, and purity of the glycol have been greatly improved.

According to the composition of crude glycol impurities and the physicochemical characteristics of impurities, a complete set of ethylene glycol purification and recovery technology of "membrane separation, lightening tower, deweighting tower, adsorption-refining" was developed. Its technical characteristics are as follows:

◆ Combined membrane separation technology: The use of combined membrane separation technology can effectively remove high boiling point impurities and colored impurities in crude ethylene glycol, and improve the subsequent operation of the rectification system.

◆ High-efficiency adsorption concentrate preparation: High adsorption capacity, and high selective impurity removal rate.

◆ The product quality is good: The combined purified ethylene glycol reaches the reuse standard.

◆ Low energy consumption: The membrane separation system and adsorption refining system operate in mild conditions, and the waste liquid discharge is low.
