SHP-02 Series Second Stage Hydrogenation Catalyst for Cracked Gasoline

Pyrolysis gasoline is a general term for the distillate with a dry point of 205℃ and more than pentacene as a by-product in the process of steam cracking to ethylene. Due to the obvious differences in cracking raw material, crackingmethod, cracking furnace type and cracking depth, thecomposition of cracked gasoline changes greatly, and thethermal and chemical stability is poor, so it cannot be useddirectly. In general, the diolefins and conjugated aromatics are removed by selective hydrogenation in one stage, and the mon olefins are saturated and impurities containing sulfur, nitrogen, and oxygen are removed by hydrogenation in two stages, in which the C6-C8 fractions are extracted by solvent extraction.

Since 2003, Shanghai Institute has carried outcomprehensive research on the catalyst technology ofsecond stage hydrogenation of cracked gasoline, and hassuccessfully developed SHP-02 and SHP02F catalysts. The project has obtained 2 Chinese authorized invention patents, won 1 first prize in Shanghai Science and Technology Progress, and 1 third prize of Sinopec Scienceand Technology Progress.

At present, the two-stage hydrogenation catalysts of cracked gasoline are mainly promoted including SHP-02 and SHP-02F, and the characteristics of the main products are shown in the following table:

In addition, a catalyst composite loading scheme suitable for different feedstock properties have been developed. The composite filling scheme has the technical characteristics of low starting temperature, high speed, strong gum resistance, low sulfur resistance, strong carbon resistance, and good stability.

SHP-02 series of second-stage hydrogenation catalysts for cracked gasoline has been industrialized in 15 sets of domestic plants. The comprehensive performance of the catalyst has reached the international advanced level.
