Layered Double Hydroxide series of hydrotalcites have excellent thermal stability effects and are excellent non-toxic thermal stabilizers. Polymeric materials using them as thermal stabilizers have outstanding thermal stability.
Description

 

Magnesium aluminum hydroxide (Layered Double Hydrotalcites, LDHs) is a class of anionic layered inorganic materials with layered structure, adjustable chemical composition and unique structure and properties. When used in PVC resins, the anionic layers can exchange with chlorine free radicals generated during PVC degradation, stabilizing the chlorine free radicals between the layers and thus blocking further degradation reactions.

 

Characteristics

 

1. Excellent thermal stability due to immobilization of Cl ions, superior to lead stabilizers.

2. Environmentally friendly and safe, suitable for food contact use.

3. Same transparency as PVC due to similar refractive index.

4. Maintains insulation of PVC as it absorbs Cl ions.

5. Readily dispersed due to small particle size and surface treatment.

6. Good weathering properties.

7. Non-exuding filler.

8. No sulfide byproducts, can be used with other metal stabilizers.

9. Versatile, suitable for different types of PVC resins.
