CO Removal Adsorbents

CO removal Adsorbents are a copper-zinc catalyst, which is prepared by a co-precipitation method.

Product name: CO removal Adsorbents (BASF Puristar R3-16_)

Products Description

CO removal Adsorbents are a copper-zinc catalyst, which is prepared by a co-precipitation method.

Product Application

CO removal Adsorbents can remove trace impurities such as O2, H2S and COS in the propylene feed. Trace amounts of impurities such as O2, H2O, H2S, COS, AsH3, PH3, etc., can easily poison and deactivate the polymerization catalyst, thereby affecting the normal production of polypropylene.

Product Advantages

CO removal Adsorbents's active components are uniformly dispersed, and have high selectivity and activity. While, it has the characteristics of high mechanical strength, good use effect, large capacity, convenient use and operation.

Loading

a. Clean the reactor before loading.

b. The adsorbent is filled with oxygen-free filling method.

c. Load a layer of inert ceramic ball at both top and bottom of the adsorbent bed. The inert ceramic ball is separated from the adsorbent by stainless nets with mesh size smaller than the adsorbent.

d. Use special tool to ensure evenly distribution of the adsorbent both in the center and around the inner wall.

e. Inspect uniformity of the bed during loading. When inner-reactor operation is needed, A wood plate should be put on the adsorbent for the operator to stand on.

f. A stainless net and a approximate 150mm layer of inert ceramic ball should be installed at the top of the adsorbent bed so as to prevent the adsorbent from being carried away and ensure even distribution of the gas stream.

g. After filling, seal and protect with nitrogen.

Start-up

a. The adsorbent is heated with a mixed gas of nitrogen and air.Heating speed: approx. 50℃/h. Temperature range is controlled at 180-280℃. Keep at the temperature for 12-30h. Then reduce the temperature to room temperature.

b. Replace the system by nitrogen or other inert gases until oxygen concentration in the gas is less than 0.1%.

c. Introduce ethylene feed, elevate the pressure at 0.5MPa/10min until the operation pressure is attained.

d. The system should be operated at half load to regulate temperature, pressure and flow rate. Then raise the load steadily when operation becomes stable till full-scale operation.

e. Regeneration after adsorption saturation. The adsorbent is heated with a mixed gas of nitrogen and air. Heating speed: approx. 50℃/h. Temperature range is controlled at 180-280℃. Keep at the temperature for 12-30h. Then reduce the temperature to room temperature.

Shut-down

(1) Emergent shut-down

Cut feed gas (oil) supply. Close inlet and outlet valves. Keep the temperature and pressure. When leakage happens, use nitrogen gas to maintain the pressure to prevent negative pressure.

(2) Change-over of adsorbent

Lower the pressure with feed gas (oil) or nitrogen to ambient condition. Then isolate the CO removal reactor from the production system. Replace the reactor with nitrogen gas. Then passivate the adsorbent with air until oxygen concentration>10% is attained and no temperature rise is observed. Open the reactor and unload the adsorbent. Dispose of used adsorbent in accordance with local laws and regulations.

(3) Equipment maintenance (overhaul)

Lower the pressure with feed gas (oil) or nitrogen to ambient condition. Then isolate the CO removal reactor from the production system. Replace the reactor with nitrogen gas.

Package and transportation

(1) The adsorbent is packed in air-tight plastic or iron barrels with plastic lining to prevent moisture and chemical attack.

(2) Tumbling, collision and violent vibration should be avoided during transportation to prevent breakage of the adsorbent.
