Description

High Purity PVDF Rod is a precision-engineered fluoropolymer semi-finished product designed for machining components used in corrosive and contamination-sensitive environments. It offers outstanding chemical resistance, excellent mechanical stability, and extremely low extractables, making it ideal for high-purity industrial applications.

High purity PVDF rods are widely used as a machining material for components that require a combination of chemical resistance, dimensional stability, and material cleanliness. Produced from carefully selected virgin PVDF resin, these rods are designed to meet the stringent requirements of high-purity and corrosive service environments.

From a chemical resistance perspective, PVDF demonstrates excellent resistance to strong acids, alkalis, halogens, oxidizing agents, and a broad range of organic solvents. Unlike metals, high purity PVDF rods do not corrode or leach metallic ions into process media. This characteristic is especially important in semiconductor manufacturing, chemical processing, and water treatment applications where contamination control is critical.

In terms of mechanical performance, PVDF rods provide high tensile strength, good impact resistance, and excellent creep resistance under continuous load. The semi-crystalline structure of PVDF allows machined parts to maintain dimensional accuracy over extended service periods, even under fluctuating temperature and pressure conditions. Compared with other fluoropolymers, PVDF offers a balanced combination of stiffness and toughness, supporting reliable long-term use.

Regarding thermal stability, high purity PVDF rods typically support continuous operating temperatures up to approximately 140–150°C. PVDF maintains its mechanical integrity and chemical resistance across a wide temperature range, making it suitable for both ambient and moderately elevated temperature applications.

From a purity and processing standpoint, high purity PVDF rods feature low extractables and smooth internal material structure. They are well suited for CNC machining, turning, milling, and drilling, enabling the production of precision components such as valve parts, pump components, seals, bushings, and custom fittings. Strict quality control during extrusion and post-processing ensures consistent diameter, straightness, and surface quality.
