The application performance of Alumina catalyst carrier is easily affected by its morphological characteristics. Actual production has proven that in alumina products with different morphologies, gamma alumina carriers with regular shapes are particularly effective due to their large specific surface area, high bulk density, high strength, controllable pore size, good adsorption, thermal stability, and acidic surface.

Extrudate shape includes all shapes that was formed through extruder, normally includes Trilobe, Quadrilobe, Cylinder, Pellet, Ring shapes etc. Extrudate is the most widely used catalyst carrier shape.
